What can I say about the VMAs…. I’m not gonna blog about every performance and what people were wearing and stuff like that because this isn’t one of those blogs. But, I do wanna talk about one standout performance: Kanye, of course. After the controversy between himself and Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMA’s everyone had their eye on him, especially as the final performer of the show. But Kanye did not disappoint. His song “Runaway” and its performance will have people talking for days. One thing is for sure, while Taylor sung a ballad (“Still An Innocent”) about Kanye’s actions last year and how it wasn’t his character and how she forgives him, Kanye was out winning his fans back the only way he knows how. “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags….” Indeed. Since Kanye’s comeback and his “Power” performance at the 2010 BET Awards, Mr. West has been tearing up a storm, releasing song after song, and “Runaway” was definitely up to par. Kanye showed his production skills on stage by mixing in different samples while performing and the song even featured his fellow G.O.O.D Music artist Pusha T, formerly from The Clipse. So to all the bitter haters out there who are still resenting Kanye for his actions last year, you should take a cue from Kanye and the rest of the world: move on. Or better yet, Runaway haha.

PS: Pause the video after you watch it or it will take you to the VMA website. Also here is the link to the CDQ version of “Runaway”. http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/en/play/s/d438c70-79455/
