Kendrick Lamar- "i" (Single Artwork)

Get ready for Kendrick season, people. TDE has been 4/4 on their promise to drop six projects from their artists this year and it looks like Kendrick is up next. Kendrick revealed the artwork for the first single to his upcoming sophomore album. The single is called "i" and is set to be released next Tuesday, the 23rd. It would be an understatement to say that Kendrick's next album is highly anticipated due to the fact that good kid, m.A.A.d city was so...good. Stay tuned for more. Enjoy.

Justin Timberlake has revealed the second single to his upcoming album, The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2. The new track, “TKO,” is very similar in style to the songs of Futuresex/Lovesounds. I think this is largely associated with the increased involvement of Timbaland on this track. I like the feel of this one, but I’m worried about how cohesive the album’s style will be. This track is nothing like the first single, “Take Back the Night.” We will see in a week. Enjoy.

Horns! Timbaland! Justin Timberlake! The Tennessee kids are at it again. This guy has wonderful timing. The other day he teased us with a video promoting a new single called “Take Back the Night.” Well, the release date has been revealed and it’s today. He has released the single, it’s available on iTunes, and it doesn’t miss a beat from the tracks on The 20/20 Experience. It seems that the sequel will pick right up where the first album left off. This is a great summer track and I can just hear the MJ influences. The sequel drops on September 30th. Enjoy.

I was just telling some friends yesterday that I wasn’t ready to believe that the sequel to The 20/20 Experience was happening in September until I got a single. Well, Justin Timberlake released a teaser about a single called “Take Back the Night” and the release date was blurred out. A snippet of the song is playing in the background and it sounds pretty good. It looks like we can expect the sequel on September 30th after all. Enjoy.

"Beware"- Big Sean (feat. Jhene Aiko & Lil Wayne)

Big Sean announced that his sophomore album, Hall Of Fame, will be released on August 27th. Now, he has treated us with a third single from the album. It’s called “Beware” and features Jhene Aiko and Lil Wayne. It touches on relationships and cheating. It’s a decent track and will do well on the radio. Jhene Aiko served her part perfectly. Idk how I feel about Wayne’s verse. I just can’t mess with him anymore lol. Enjoy.

"Collard Greens"- ScHoolboy Q (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

ScHoolboy Q released a new single from Oxymoron. This one features Kendrick Lamar and is called “Collard Greens.” People are really into this track, but for some reason, it just feels average to me. The beat is tight and the hook was one I didn’t expect, but lyrically, I wasn’t wowed. *shrugs* Idk, I’m gonna have to mull this one over. Enjoy.

"Switch Up"- Big Sean (feat. Common)

Big Sean just dropped off the new single for his album, Hall of Fame. “Switch Up” features Common and reveals Sean and Common going crazy over a HARD beat. Braggadocious rap isn’t really my main thing, but I kinda mess with this song. I’m not 100% on it and I hope the album features more than songs like this, but it’s definitely in Big Sean’s lane especially for a radio single. I’ll give it a few more listens. Enjoy.

"Bow Down/I Been On"- Beyoncé

Beyoncé has released a new double single for her upcoming, untitled album. The track, “Bow Down/I Been On” is produced by Hit-Boy and features Beyoncé like we’ve never seen her before. The “Bow Down” part of the track sounds like a Beyonce version of “Mr. Nice Watch” haha and then the song transforms into a Houston-inspired chopped and screwed banger. Beyoncé’s voice is even screwed. It’s something new and I don’t hate it. Enjoy.

"Started From the Bottom"- Drake

Well, we’ve been waiting for new Drake music for a while, and now we’ve got it. Drake released the first single for his upcoming, untitled album. It’s called “Started From The Bottom” and was produced by Mike Zombie. I almost didn’t recognize Drake’s voice on the hook because he sounded so different. I don’t know if I’m too excited about this track. Lyrically, he didn’t say much and I think that, with the message he’s trying to convey, he could have delivered an incredible song. I am still excited to see if he brings the magic with his third album, but I’ll need to see more. Enjoy.

My good friends,

It has truly been too long. I assume you’re all keeping well and making the most of this year that has been given to us. Today is the day to begin sharing my newest work with you. This is the first single off of my upcoming album. I feel sometimes that people don’t have enough information about my beginnings and therefore they make up a life story for me that isn’t consistent with actual events. My family and my second family (consisting of the best friends anybody could ever have) all struggled and worked extremely hard to make all this happen. I did not buy my way into this spot and it was the furthest thing from easy to achieve. I am proud of every part of my past and I’m excited for this song to find a place in your life as well. I didn’t feel I needed any interviews or radio or press to launch this song. It felt right to come back to the site that I started on and release it to the people that started here with me. Judging by this post, the tour that we’ve been planning, the conversations about new songs and album artwork…I think it’s safe to say we’re back together again. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.”

"Zero"- Keyshia Cole (feat. Meek Mill)

Apparently Keyshia Cole is dropping an album in less than two weeks and she has released the first single. It’s called “Zero” and it features Meek Mill. It’s not bad at all and Meek adds a lot to it. He does a good job of flowing over the smooth R&B beat, which isn’t his style. Her album, Woman To Woman, drops on the 19th. Enjoy.
