"We Made It"- Jay Electronica & Jay Z

So, Jay Electronica just released a new track where he and Jay Z completely MURK Drake’s “We Made It” track. However, the thing that has everyone’s panties in a bunch is one of Jay Z’s lines. In a Rolling Stone interview, Drake says, “It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references.  I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole Rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.” Not even really a serious stab at Hov. Now, in this new track, Jay says, “Sorry Mr. Drizzy for so much art talk, Silly me rapping ‘bout shit that I really bought. While these rappers rap about guns they ain’t shot and a bunch of other silly shit they ain’t got.” The blogosphere erupted as they are all deaf and claim Jay calls Drake “Ms. Drizzy.” That’s just clearly not the case. So kill all the noise of a Drake-Jay beef. Drake made a comment and Jay responded lol. Anyway, Jay Elec and Jay Z killed this track and two tracks from Jay Electronica in a month?! Maybe, his album is dropping this year. Time will tell. Clean ya ears out people. Enjoy.

"Better in Tune With the Infinite (feat. LaTonya Givens)"- Jay Electronica

Many of us have been waiting on Jay Electronica to release his album for at least three, four years. Some of us have given up and some of us still hold out hope. Some of us wonder if it’s even worth waiting on anymore. But then he releases a song like this one and you resent yourself for even embracing those thoughts. Jay has just released a song called “Better in Tune With the Infinite” which features LaTonya Givens. The track is mad inspirational. It kicks off with a sample from an interview with Elijah Muhammad and from The Wizard of Oz. The beat sounds very similar to Trey Songz’ “Can’t Be Friends” as they sampled the same song, “Bibo No Aozora” by Ryuichi Sakamoto. The track is just amazing as Jay drops some insightful bars over the serene production. When his album does eventually drop, we will all be blessed, for real. Enjoy.

"Control"- Big Sean (feat. Kendrick Lamar & Jay Electronica)

Big Sean just dropped off a new song, “Control,” a song that didn’t make the cut on his album due to sample clearances, and this song will be talked about for weeks to come. Not because of Big Sean’s verse and not because we finally get to hear more from the mysterious Jay Electronica, but because Kendrick dropped a verse that took shots at half the rappers in the game right now.

"I’m usually homeboys with the same niggas I’m rhymin’ with, but this is hip hop and them niggas should know what time it is. And that goes for Jermaine Cole, BIG K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron’, Tyler, Mac Miller, I got love for you all, but I’m tryna murder you niggas. Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you niggas, They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you niggas."

These were not subliminal shots. While stating that he had love for them all, he simultaneously sent out warning shots. In a rap game where subliminals are now the norm, Kendrick wasn’t having it. This may easily be verse of the year. He took shots at the two people he was on the song with! On Big Sean’s song! “Sample clearances” lol low key Big Sean took this song off the album because Kendrick’s verse would have been the best verse on the album. Period. Haha I can’t wait to see the fallout from this. Enjoy.
