Big Grams- "Lights On"

Big Boi & Phantogram's collaborative EP, Big Grams, is set to be released in a few days and they have now revealed a new track, "Lights On." This track, compared to the previous single "Fell In The Sun," sees Phantogram taking the lead with Big Boi dishing the assist. This project seems like it will be very balanced and I'm excited to hear it. Get Big Grams here on September 25th.

"Electric Lady (Remix)"- Janelle Monaé (feat. Solange, Cee-Lo Green & Big Boi)

If you don’t have Janelle Monaé’s The Electric Lady, you’re missing out on one of the best real R&B albums to drop this year. Seriously. She has revealed a remix to the title track which still features Solange, but adds verses from veteran ATL rappers Cee-Lo Green and Big Boi. Check it out and enjoy.

Big Boi

Remember when I posted that Big Boi and Andre 3000 would release solo albums by the end of 2011 and an Outkast album in 2012? Well it looks like Big Boi is definitely making that a reality! According to him, he has already finished 17 tracks for the follow up to his album Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. So far the album is set to be called Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader. This is great news. Here’s what Big Boi had to say about it: "It’s going to be S-A-X-X-X triple unadulterated funk to the extremest level. Straight lyrical assassin, and the beats are going to be as hard hitting as always. I’mma let everything else be a surprise, and just let it speak for itself." Enjoy.

OutKast

I was just telling a friend the other week that if OutKast was serious about working on a new album that it would probably come out in 2012. And now here’s news that they are working on an album to release in 2012 and they are each working on solo albums to release by the end of 2011. We definitely all need some OutKast in our lives. “OutKast is on track to release a new album by early next year. Both Dre and Big are working on solo projects; they want those out by the end of 2011.” Enjoy.

Purple Kidz

Big Boi has started a label, Purple Kidz, with his daughter, Jordan. She just turned 16 and rather then give her something material he wanted to give her something that could last, that she could take care of. “I wanted to give my child something that she can grow and build and nurture. So I gave her her own label.”

This will definitely be big, the label is set to feature younger artists. Stay tuned. Enjoy.
