Music Video: Beyoncé- "Formation"

Beyoncé decided she wanted to own the internet today and debuted a new song and music video called "Formation." The video takes place in New Orleans and the Louisiana/Creole culture is all over it. The video features a Blue Ivy cameo, some amazing choreography, and Queen B slaying in general. There's a big chance she performs this at the Super Bowl tomorrow so this is a big deal. With some amazing quotables like a Red Lobster shout out and the fact that she keeps hot sauce in her bag, Beyoncé had Twitter buzzing (no pun intended). Check out the video above and download it for free here.

Jay Z Announces TIDAL Festival

TIDAL is still kicking and they just turned it up a notch with this announcement. The TIDAL X: 10/20 concert has been announced and will feature Beyoncé, Jay Z, Prince, Usher, Nicki Minaj, and many more. You do not want to miss this show; the lineup is incredible. Hurry and get tickets before they sell out.

Naughty Boy- "Runnin' (Lose It All) (feat. Beyoncé & Arrow Benjamin)" (Music Video)

I just discovered that Naughty Boy was an English DJ and songwriter who's worked with Emeli Sandé heavily on her music, but he's released a new song and he's got one hell of a feature: Beyoncé. She delivers an amazing feature for his track and really takes it to the next level. Check out the collaboration above.

Kanye West Has Made Quite A Comeback

It was almost six years ago when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards, a move that affected his career in a major way. He interrupted Swift after she won the Video of the Year Award, an award 'Ye thought Beyoncé deserved and he made sure Swift and the entire world knew it. Kanye was shunned by Swift supporters and praised by many others; the backlash from his actions seemingly forced him to take a break from the spotlight for almost a year and it is definitely one of the defining moments of his career, for better or worse.

Fast forward six years later and West has released two critically acclaimed albums, a monster collaborative album with Jay Z, a G.O.O.D. Music compilation album, and has another album on the way. And now at this year's MTV VMAs, he will receive the highest honors the event has to offer: the "Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award." This award is a lifetime achievement award honoring an artist's body of work and their effect on the MTV culture. This award is a huge deal and it's an even bigger deal that Kanye has been able to come back from this blemish on his career to shine brighter than he ever has. He hasn't become any less opinionated or any quieter, but he's begun to use his platform to inform and 'keep it real' on more pressing issues that affect him rather than bring down any one individual.

Call it a comeback; Kanye West is this year's recipient of the "Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award" and I hope he does some dope 10 minute performance like many of the recipients have in the past. I'll be watching.

Beyoncé and Rihanna Release New Music on TIDAL

Well, it seems like the change TIDAL promised is starting early. It was clear to see that the exclusive content promised to TIDAL members would be the greatest advantage the app held. Beyoncé released a video of her singing to Jay Z in honor of their wedding anniversary. The song is a ballad called "Die With You." Rihanna also released a new song entitled "American Oxygen." Both of these are exclusive to TIDAL and it seems it won't be long before artists are releasing their albums exclusively on TIDAL. This will be interesting. Check out the songs via a 30 day trial or pay for a subscription below. Enjoy.

In Case You Missed It: Here Are The Big Winners From the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards

The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards were last night and, unlike previous years, many fans and viewers watched the credits roll with a feeling of satisfaction. There were many great performances: Kanye performing "Only One," Katy Perry performing "By The Grace Of God," Kanye, Rihanna, and Paul McCartney performing "FourFiveSeconds," and many more. Also, many of the GRAMMY-winning artists from the night actually deserved to win. Go figure. Sam Smith walked away with 4 GRAMMYs! However, the night was not without..."controversy." Beyoncé was chosen to perform her rendition of Mahalia Jackson's "Take My Hand, Precious Lord," a song Ledisi sang as Mahalia Jackson in the movie Selma. Many people believed Ledisi deserved to perform the song at the GRAMMYs and that she would have done a much better job. It's definitely hard to argue with that. In other news, Beyoncé was nominated for Album Of The Year and lost to Beck. As Beck accepted his award, Kanye jokingly got on stage as if he was going to interrupt Beck's speech, similar to how he interrupted Taylor Swift years ago, but then sat back down with a huge smile on his face while the crowd erupted in laughter. Even though Kanye did not interrupt Beck, the sentiment behind the gesture was pretty clear as echoed by his statements afterwards:

"If they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. Flawless Beyoncé video, and Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé. And at this point, we tired of it! Because what happens is, when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music. It's disrespectful to inspiration. And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work everyday, and listen to Beyoncé and they feel like it takes them to another place. Then they do this whole promotional event, and they'll run the music over somebody's speech, an artist, because they want a commercial advertising. No, we not playing with them no more. And by the way, I got my wife, I got my daughter, and my clothing line, so I'm not gonna do nothing to put my daughter at risk. But I am here to fight for creativity, that's the reason I didn't say anything tonight."

It wouldn't be the GRAMMYs if SOMETHING didn't go down. Check out the winners below. Enjoy.

Nicki Minaj- "Feelin' Myself (feat. Beyoncé)" x "Only (feat. Drake, Lil Wayne, & Chris Brown)" (Music Video) x "Truffle Butter (feat. Drake & Lil Wayne)"

Today is the release date of Nicki Minaj's third studio album, The Pinkprint. Above you can hear two of the notable tracks from the album, "Feelin' Myself (feat. Beyoncé)" and "Truffle Butter (feat. Drake & Lil Wayne). To be honest, I'm not too impressed with either song. From all of the songs I've heard from this album so far, it just seems scattered. You can also check out the music video for "Only (feat. Drake, Lil Wayne, & Chris Brown)." It's pretty weird but there's certainly something for everyone to enjoy in this video. So enjoy.

Beyoncé- "Ring Off" x "7/11" (Music Video)

Beyoncé is releasing BEYONCÉ: The Platinum Edition tomorrow but we were treated to two of the songs before the release. "Ring Off" is a really nice track where Beyoncé seems to be singing to her mother, advising her on moving on and finding love again. The second song, "7/11," is just insane. It's 'Yonce in full form as she makes a trap song anyone can turn up to. She released the video for the song and it's just amazing. She's dancing all over hotel rooms with her dance team just TURNING UP and there's even an appearance from Hov with a hilarious somersault in the background. Check them both out above. Enjoy.

Beyoncé Announces Platinum Edition of Self-Titled Album

There have been a lot of rumors floating around that Beyoncé was re-releasing her self-titled album after photos of a tracklist with eleven new songs appeared on the Internet. Who really knows if that was ever true, but Beyoncé is releasing something. She's announced Beyoncé (The Platinum Edition). It's a four disc box set that will come with 2 CDs and 2 DVDs. The DVDs will consist of 10 live performances while the CDs will consist of the original album and a "new" album called More. More will feature two new songs, "7/11" and "Ring Off," and four new remixes. The platinum edition will also come with Beyoncé's 2015 calendar and will be released on November 24th. You can pre-order it here and check out the More tracklist below. Enjoy.

1 7/11
2 Flawless Remix (ft. Nicki Minaj)
3 Drunk In Love Remix (ft. Jay-Z and Kanye West)
4 Ring Off
5 Blow Remix (ft. Pharrell Williams)
6 Standing on the Sun Remix (ft. Mr. Vegas)

"Flawless (Remix) (feat. Nicki Minaj)"- Beyoncé

Beyoncé treated the world last night when she unveiled her remix to “Flawless.” The remix features a verse from Nicki Minaj, a collaboration I never thought I’d see. The song features a new verse from Bey (where she addresses the elevator incident) and a monster verse from Nicki. It was everything a remix should be. They killed it. Enjoy.

Beyoncé is the type of artist that chooses her features carefully and Michelle Williams is one of the chosen few that can get a feature from her. The three core members of Destiny’s Child (Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle) reunited for Michelle’s song “Say Yes” and the music video can be viewed above. It’s a jovial affair as the three dance around with a crowd of people. The gospel track will appear on Michelle’s upcoming album, Journey To Freedom. Enjoy.

The rumors were true. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have announced the “On The Run Tour.” Their stadium tour kicks off in Miami on June 25th and ends in San Francisco on August 5th. Although, I’ve gotta believe they’ll add more dates. I’m specifically hoping they’ll perform at the Made In America Festival in Philly on Labor Day weekend.
