Music Video: Francis and the Lights- "Friends (feat. Bon Iver & Kanye West)"

Francis and the Lights released a new music video today for their song, "Friends." The visuals feature Kanye West and Bon Iver, who also appears in the song. Chance The Rapper has been promoting the video heavily since last night, leading many to think the music video for "Summer Friends" would be released today. You can see the confusion as Francis and the Lights were featured on that song from Chance's Coloring Book project. I was definitely confused haha. However, the video is pretty dope and you can definitely see the effects of a Kanye West-directed video. The minimalistic visuals are right up his alley. As for the song, it sounds very similar to Francis' contributions to "Summer Friends;" it's possible it stemmed from the same studio session? Either way, it's fresh as hell.

Edit: Francis sampled his song "Friends" to create his part on Chance's "Summer Friends." Mystery solved.

Both videos are amazing and see Drake and Rihanna getting very close; check the videos out above. Anti is in stores now.

Music Video: Beyoncé- "Formation"

Beyoncé decided she wanted to own the internet today and debuted a new song and music video called "Formation." The video takes place in New Orleans and the Louisiana/Creole culture is all over it. The video features a Blue Ivy cameo, some amazing choreography, and Queen B slaying in general. There's a big chance she performs this at the Super Bowl tomorrow so this is a big deal. With some amazing quotables like a Red Lobster shout out and the fact that she keeps hot sauce in her bag, Beyoncé had Twitter buzzing (no pun intended). Kendrick Lamar dropped off a new video to help end 2015 the right way. The video, "God Is Gangsta," features visuals for his songs "u" and "For Sale? (Interlude)." The visuals for the former certainly match the tone of the song as a drunk Kendrick argues with his conscience in a hotel room. In the visuals for "For Sale?," scenes of Kendrick getting baptized are interspersed with scenes of him in a strip club while phrases like the one seen above quickly flash onscreen. Check out the short film above.
